So – a little look back at last month now that the dust has settled and the installation de-installed.
I survived the Saturday night that was the Nashville Art Craw & the rest of March too. Since my camera wasn’t working, in addition to showing me how to fix it, DPC artist-in-residence Elizabeth Streight took some photos of the room at the Crawl. This was the one opportunity to take shots when it was dark outside and the space only lit by artificial light.
I was greatly appreciative to the friends & strangers who came down to engage with the work at the Art Crawl and throughout the month. I still haven’t quite gotten over seeing the front page story on The Contributor newspaper. Joe Nolan wrote a really compelling piece, which raised some provocative yet vital questions about militarism and detainment. I hold The Contributor in great esteem, so it was a genuine honor to have my work featured by them. Thanks again to editor Andrew Krinks & Joe Nolan.
Thanks too to the Twist, especially Beth Gilmore — who along with my dear sister in law Sarah, gave so much time and energy to the installation. It was a really encouraging and enlivening experience all round.
I’ve no idea what comes next but I’m just letting my mind and eye roam about until I settle on whatever project seems a natural next step.
Here’s the audio, and Elizabeth’s pics…
